Sama Veda Sandhyavandhanam
ஸாம வேத ஸந்த்யாவந்தனம்
The Sama Veda Sandhyavandhanam (Kauthuma / Jaiminiya Shakha, followed mainly in Kerala and some Tamil Nadu communities) is being prepared and will be available soon.
Key characteristics of Sama Veda tradition
- Mantras are sung with Samaveda svaras (musical notes) — not recited in prose
- Distinct Gayatri Saman replaces the prose Gayatri japa
- Upasthana uses Samaveda-specific Surya and Varuna hymns
- Jaiminiya branch has unique melodic patterns preserved by Nambudiri Brahmins
- Pranava (Om) recitation with specific udatta/anudatta/svarita markings
